Okay, so the first gamewide plot is pretty much over, except for the aftershocks.

Next on the agenda is going to be a case of arson, occurring to Nuala's shop, and tonight I'll be turning on the phone system for the city. Characters in important duty roles will receive phones.

You'll notice I've started posting from my own npc account, I'm wondering if I should institute new tags, npc: character name to help find specific npcs for future reference. Yes/No? I'll be doing the retagging so this is a 'do you want John to do more work because he totally will for the sake of organization' thing.

Skipping the real fifth which is an npc account

Okay, let's talk plot, because I know some things were getting kind of confusing there.

1) There will be mod-driven plots, like the ( cult/murder mystery coming up )

This, and all mod-driven plots, will be open to anyone who wants to participate but it's not mandatory. The mods will have a clear outline of how any mod-driven plot is going to proceed, but of course, we are open to ideas and changes along the way.

2) There will also be mod-driven events, like the upcoming Winter Festival. Different than a plot in that it's just an event, with no clear ending - we just want to throw these out there to see how/what comes up, and just so the characters can have something special to do. Again, this is open to anyone who wants to participate, but it's not mandatory.

3) Player-driven plots! This can be anything you like from, say, characters working together on the Festival plans, to characters falling in love, to characters deciding to get together and have a big party. The only thing we ask about player-driven plots is that you clear them with all characters who might be involved, before proceeding, so it doesn't mess up someone else's plans for their character.

A) For example, with the Silmaril-finding, I'd like to know because I want to plan for how Fëanor would react to another Silmaril turning up. So we just want everyone to work together to make sure all the plots can work out.

B) That doesn't mean someone else would get to veto your plot idea. Again, using Fëanor as an example, I am not going to say "No, no one can find a silmaril" but I might say, "Okay, but let's work this out in terms of timeline and how it might affect my character." So basically what we're asking is to be flexible in terms of plotting with others.

Picking up on a point in John's last post, if anyone has any ideas about the finding of the third Silmaril, please discuss first before proceeding.

Luthien's got dibs one the second one, and I would like to see how that plays out before the third is found.

The Fëanorians have some ideas on how to search for a third, so that will be an ongoing point. And one of them will eventually find the third.

But as Fëanor's mun, I'd rather draw the whole thing out, so he has something to obsess upon, instead of having all three silmarils show up at once. Or at least until I figure out something else he can go crazy over. :D

I've made the journal

gondocase1 to use to write updates for the plot, use for npc characters for the plot, etc, etc.

It will be a shared journal!

What does that mean? Why do you only do this stuff in the early am?

Okay, it means that if you have a role to play in the story but don't want to really keep the character, you put it in this journal and use it to do it.

And I'm at my most active in these hours, because I am a hamster.

What's the plot?

Haven't decided yet. Please, please, I'm begging you, plot with me this time. The first case will primarily involve the guards. This is a good time to create someone attached to the guards, or use an npc journal to make yourself a guard character you don't need to devote much time to.

So for the first plot, it's going to be related to what we decided on previously, the cosmic horror and it starting to bleed into things other than the warp in time.

This is going to lead to a crime case for the guards.

Any idea for characters? I'll be planning out victims and perpetrators. I learned from last time that it helps to let everyone know what's going on, without too much in the dark. All I gotta ask is that no one use this ooc knowledge for their character to skip to the end.

Okay, it looks like we mostly agreed on 'cosmic horror' so I'll be writing up guidelines to that soon. Snacky, el co-mod-o, requested this not turn into a horror game so instances of it should be short and sweet.

Also, in regards to new players, Sar's Fingon was talking about wanting a Maedhros to pair up with and Turgon gives this advice: "A Feanorian? Don't stick your dick in the crazy"

Also also also as well debating bringing a silmaril into play, using a star sapphire as its picture as I've done previously.

Are there any plot ideas anyone's wanted to try out for their characters? Now's a good time to bring them up.

Okay, 2.5 items of business!

ITEM ONE: So far I've been organizing the chats, and y'all gotta start talking to each other. I'm starting to feel like the main character and that can lead to egotism on my part. Reply to here with the best way to contact oneself.

ITEM TWO: I've reserved the name 'Gondolindrim' on DW just in case HJ isn't finished by the time I want to start the game, a week or so after the Hobbit drops. We may end up being a DW game. Prepare yourselves.
