Okay, so I feel like a total douchenozzle for disappearing on you guys. I'm really sorry. I had a bit of a relapse which included a trip to the ER for suicide watch. I'm doing a lot better now, and since the conditions of my release included quitting my job, should be around fairly a lot until I find something new.

I feel most of you know me already. I am the (infamous? :D ? :D ?) (G)nutmeg. I ran a way old version of this game what feels like 6 lifetimes ago.

I'm terribly absent minded, I work nightshift so I'm not always on the computer as much as some might prefer, and I do have a number of medical issues that I have to work around. (Thus why I haven't done this in a while...) But I have missed playing terribly, so I let certain peoples talk me back into it. Feel free to poke and prod like a poorly written fan-fic if I forget or mess up anything.

(EDIT: nightshift = I'm most likely to be around in the wee hours of morning else afternoonish. AIM is sorta working, gmail/chat or fb chat are far better.)

One of my biggest regrets was this poor character having basically been rendered unplayable to me due to the characters I took around him to help others' plots. I've decided to play him as though he'd suddenly been "sneezed" (Do we still do that? I'm still catching up :P) from the old game to this one from the point where he stopped.

Just wondering what people wanted to do next regarding the plot with Nuala's shop arson. I don't have any specifics in mind, other than assuming it will culminate in some NPC Rohirric guards being fired, so wanted to hear from the other people involved about what you guys want to do next, what particular scenarios if any you want to play out, etc.

Since we've been pretty silent, we're gonna do a timeskip. All plots moved ahead as far as you want, which in MY case means that Dagnir now has kittens, and the spring festival is now in swing! You can move your own plots forward, OR as long as you provide an explanation, move your character into a whole different situation!

I thought I'd mention the canon security that Gondolin has, specifically the fact it is patrolled by giant fucking eagles. You leave the boundaries, an eagle eats you. I just added guards to make it more fair.

Okay, so the first gamewide plot is pretty much over, except for the aftershocks.

Next on the agenda is going to be a case of arson, occurring to Nuala's shop, and tonight I'll be turning on the phone system for the city. Characters in important duty roles will receive phones.

You'll notice I've started posting from my own npc account, I'm wondering if I should institute new tags, npc: character name to help find specific npcs for future reference. Yes/No? I'll be doing the retagging so this is a 'do you want John to do more work because he totally will for the sake of organization' thing.

Note on city architecture: I’m thinking that the city has some pretty elaborate stonework throughout, and that this would include etched stone tile around the bases of fountains and the edges of roads.

Note: The details of who’s involved can be tweaked! No one is forced to do anything. For example, Mochi doesn’t have to play a scene where Luthien worries about Finrod’s absence. Likewise, just because a character is not listed does not mean they cannot get in on the action. For example, Sar could decide to slate Fingon as part of the rescue party (we hear he has experience).

Also, not everything in the timeline above needs to be played out in a detailed way. So if you're thinking, "oh god that sounds like a lot", don't panic! Some of it could be referred to by a character or narrated if needed.

Disclaimer: Don't worry if this doesn't quite jive or make sense to you, it's all purely academic to explain how it's working backstage. Just keep playing how you have. No character doubles will come into play without permission from a player.

On the nature of the timestream in this game:

As you've seen, with the death of Eol, the future of Gondolin has definitely been changed. What does this mean for characters? Will Elladan cease to exist if Luthien never meets Beren, or Idril marries Gelgannel instead?

What does it mean about people from two different but nearly identical timelines co-existing like Idis and Theodred?

What about people like Daeron/Luthien/All the Feanorians being around while they should also be existing elsewhere?

Well, I like seeing the characters speculate, so don't let them see this entry.

Since there's been mention of a plethora of fancy new future fashions finding their way into Gondolin, I thought it would make sense for Lúthien--a princess of the best breeding and expensive tastes--to be trying out some of these.

The last few days I've been combing through hundreds of archival images from fashion shows and whatnot. These are a handful of the dresses I thought Lúthy would wear. Most of them are blue (since blue is kind of her power color) but I wouldn't limit her to just that. This is only a few, because I didn't want to inundate y'all with more than a sampling of my sartorial sensibilities.

These images are courtesy of several fashion houses, including Marchesa, Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, Valentino, and Abed Mahfouz.

Name: Unknown, victim has thus far been unidentified.

Race: Human.

State of body: Clothed and died of unknown means, but has post-mortem cuts and is drained of blood. No sign of struggle.

Evidence: Very little.

Location of body: Found in an alley, only hint to what went on is a piece of graffiti on the wall done in blood (blood donor unknown):

Victim 2:

Name: Grindi

Race: Dwarf

State of body: Clothed in decorative armour (not battle armour). Same means of death as victim 1, with the same cuts. No signs of struggle.

Evidence: The same symbol on wall. Fingerprints on armour. Strands of blonde Vanyar hair trapped in left shoulder plate.

Further facts: Grindi was a worker in the House of Artificers, and was known to be a friendly dwarf.
